James (Jim) Megann
President and Chief Executive Officer
Jim is a mining executive and a business leader. He served as Director of Investor Relations and Marketing for Linear Metals Corporation and has more than 25 years experience in the communications and marketing industry.
Prior to joining Linear, Jim was Senior Vice President of m5 Marketing Communication. There he led teams in a wide variety of communication disciplines ranging from, on-line marketing programs, public relations, market research and promotional programs. His client experience is equally as wide in scope ranging from other publicly traded companies, to automotive, consumer goods, business-to-business, manufacturing and commodities industries.
Mr. Megann also worked for 2 years with Weber Shandwick, a leading public relations company, as a senior consultant on media issues, government, and community relations programs. Mr. Megann studied a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Wade K. Dawe
Chairman, Member of the Company's Audit Committee, Member of the Company's Compensation Committee
Wade K. Dawe is Chairman of Stockport Exploration Corporation and Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Brigus Gold. Mr. Dawe has been an entrepreneur in Canadian mining and venture capital industries since 1994 and has consistently demonstrated strong results for shareholders through strategic planning and quality acquisitions and partnerships. Since 2004 he has raised over $200 million in equity financing. Mr. Dawe currently serves on the Board of Immunovaccine. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) where he serves on the Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration. His philanthropic activities include establishing and personally funding the annual James R. Pearcey Entrepreneurial Scholarship at Memorial University. Mr. Dawe, a native of Newfoundland and Labrador, is also a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), an international organization for business leaders.
Matthew Rees, M.Sc., P. Geo.
Vice President, Exploration
Matt Rees initially joined Stockport Exploration Corporation as Chief Geologist in 2007, principally overseeing the delineation and resource definition of the KM61 Mo-Cu-Ag porphyry deposit over the next two years. Since late 2009, Matt has headed Stockport's exploration efforts as Vice President, including the discovery of multiple stacked mineralized horizons at the Aubry Li-Ta-Be pegmatite occurrences (Seymour Lake Project).
Prior to joining Stockport, Matt spent 18 years with Noranda and Falconbridge, where he worked on a variety of base metal and gold ore deposit types, both extensively in Canada and Internationally, including leading the discovery teams on the Esker Lake and JG Pb-Zn-Ag deposits in the high Arctic. Prior to that he worked for a number of companies and organizations, including the Saskatchewan Geological Survey, the Saskatchewan Research Council, Esso Minerals, Noranda Exploration, and Goldsil Mining & Milling, where he was involved in the discovery of the Rod Au Zone which eventually became part of the Jolu Mine.
Matt has over 25 years of exploration experience, and his international experience includes work in Mexico, Mongolia, Turkey, Spain, Ireland and the US, including all stages of exploration from project generation through resource delineation. Matt is a longstanding member of the GAC, SEG, PDAC, and the APGO. In 1992 he completed his M.Sc. thesis on the fluid history of the lode-gold and Au-PGE-U deposits in the Goldfields Peninsula area, northern Saskatchewan.
Keith Abriel
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Keith Abriel is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA charterholder with more than 12 years experience in financial management and reporting, corporate finance, treasury, strategic planning, and human resources in a broad range of sectors, including the resource sector.
Prior to joining Stockport, Mr. Abriel spent 9 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was responsible for the delivery of various assurance, taxation and corporate finance services to a diverse portfolio of both public and private entities, including a number of successful Initial Public Offerings.
Mr. Abriel worked with J.D. Irving, Limited's Treasury Department from 2002 to 2004 and was responsible for a broad range of financial reporting, strategic planning and corporate treasury functions. While with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, in 1999, Mr. Abriel transferred to the Cayman Islands office and worked for 3 years in the financial services sector, including a contract with UBS AG.
Mr. Abriel has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary's University and resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Brian MacEachen
Director
Brian MacEachen is a Director of Stockport Exploration Corporation.
Mr. MacEachen's involvement in the mining industry, and experience as a Chartered Accountant overseeing the financial management of publicly-traded companies, spans 25 years.
Mr. MacEachen joined the Linear group in 2004 and most recently served as President and CEO of Linear Metals for just over four years. Prior to joining the Linear group his experience included senior positions with Franco-Nevada Mining Corporation and Aur Resources Inc. including working with teams that successfully advanced exploration stage projects through to commercial production with involvement in directing the feasibility, engineering, project financing and construction related to projects in both North and South America.
Mr. MacEachen has served as a director of Avalon Rare Metals Inc. since 1998.
A native of Ontario, Mr. MacEachen earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University and resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Carl Sheppard
Independent Director, Member of the Company's Audit Committee, Member of the Company's Compensation Committee
Mr. Sheppard is President and Managing Partner of Strategic Concepts, Inc. As managing partner, he directs both the private and public company advisory consulting services offered by the company. He is currently providing consulting services in the areas of economic modeling, employment and industrial benefits monitoring, as well as negotiations related to Impacts and Benefits Agreements with First Nations across Canada. Mr. Sheppard has a Masters of Development Economics from Dalhousie University, where his area of concentration was regional development from a Canadian perspective. Mr. Sheppard also has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from York University's Glendon College with a focus on economic though and international business. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Memorial University where he majored in economics.
Mark Welton
Independent Director, Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee, Member of the Company's Compensation Committee
Mr. Welton is the Executive Vice President, Corporate and Digital Development and Theatre Operations for IMAX Corporation. After being called to the Bar of Ontario by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1994, Mr Welton practiced corporate and commercial law as an Associate Lawyer at Stikeman, Elliot until joining IMAX as a senior executive in 1997 where he has played a leading role in the development and execution of the Company's business strategy. Mr. Welton is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, earning his CA designation in 1990. Mr. Welton has extensive experience in domestic and global operations, including the negotiation and structuring of international deals. Mr. Welton has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick.
Robert Page, Ph.D., P. Geo.
Geological Consultant
Dr. Robert (Bob) Page joined Linear Metals Corporation as a recognized expert on hydrothermal ore deposits including porphyry copper, base and precious metal skarns, carbonate hosted polymetallic deposits, and volcanic hosted epithermal gold deposits.
Dr. Page has 30 years of international exploration experience. Most recently, he was Chief Geologist -- Copper for Noranda Inc./Falconbridge Limited.
Dr. Page is fluent in Spanish and his international experience includes work in Mexico, USA, China, Mongolia, Turkey and Ireland, including all stages of exploration from project generation through feasibility studies.
